NRVIS Numbers
The abbreviation NRVIS stands for the Natural Resource Values Information System. The
Province of Ontario assigns a unique tracking number to each taxon (plant and animal) occurring
in the province. In the Northern Ontario Plant Database, species can be searched for according to
their NRVIS number.
